You can call law enforc. Go into your attic to look at the roof decking from below to see if there are any problem areas where there might have been a leak which caused some rot. I never stand on my roof as i never touch it because i have never found anyone tall enough to see if its been cleaned on top. Some manufacturers recommend a roof is reinforced to put an air condition unit on the roof so standing on a roof would be heavier so might not be advisable especially if its under warranty.

I grew up sitting out on my roof unbeknownst to my parents so i m sure that s where some of this desire comes from. My obvious next question is if i put a window in the bedroom capable of being stepped out from why can t i do that and sit on the flat roof. People ask all the time if it s safe for them to walk on their rv roof to do maintenance or otherwise and the truth is there is no clearcut answer. Yea i think its safe but dont go at night cuz you sound like youre afraid.

Just sitting on their own roof. I re roofed houses as a 16 year old. Or is there any reason why i can t i build a fire escape up to the roof using that for access instead of a patio type bederoom window. My son is 28 and i am 56.

I assume this is not a common situation for people so i don t even know where to start. Getting on and of the ladder is probably the most dangerous part. My house is a 3 storey and my rooms at the top its pretty high but im used to it. I m assuming for the sake of this answer the hypothetical roof sitter is not doing anything else such as using illegal drugs drinking underage threatening suicide etc.

I always sit on my roof its right outside my bedroom window too. Do not go onto it if it is damp from morning dew or rain or if there are wet leaves. Then consider how steep it is when you step on the roof. Youre not afraid anymore.

This is right outside of my bedroom window i ve literally just decided to do this now but just one thing i want to do this only at night when my parents have gone to bed so i can have it private to me it looks pretty safe because its only a few steps away from that bump as you can see. Whether or not you can walk on your rv roof depends on the make and model of your vehicle and the type of support the roof offers for one or more persons. If it looks safe it will probably be okay to go out. The view is lovely by the way.
