Hi i just built my computer and i am wondering if i can keep it on the carpet i can t really put it in my desk or else it will stick out. But carpets are really good at trapping dust pet hair and all manner of other things. Sure you can it s fine. Before placing your pc on the floor be sure to think about airflow.

Avoid placing your tower pc on thick carpet. If the carpet is a problem consider putting it on a platform or stand on the carpet. And if you don t have any carpet at all this isn t a concern. There s a science to balancing airflow through.

Also i think if i put my computer in my desk it will. A pc caddy will get your tower up off of the messy carpet keep it under the desk out of site and fans out of earshot a bit while being movable to allow for access to. I can t put it on the desk because it could literally kill the kids if it fell off on them or even the dogs. I have carpeted floors i just have a cut piece of plywood that my tower sits on so it s not directly on the carpet and i haven t had any issues.

And your computer well it s a giant vacuum cleaner. By older mycroft 13 years ago in reply to computer on carpet i m assuming you are talking about a tower pc as i doubt anyone would be stupid enough to put a laptop on a carpet. Also it would look just stupid for a tower that size on the desk.
